Projecting a positive and professional Human Resources image, you will provide a wide range of human resources business processes, including recruitment and selection, personnel development, organization maintenance, workforce management, and time management. As a liaison to employees, union representatives, external clients and managers for a variety of Human Resources issues, you will respond to enquiries, investigate and resolve issues, and provide guidance and direction. As the expert in your field, you will interpret, verify, and apply corporate policies, legislation and collective agreements as they relate to human resources processes. You will adhere to all legislation pertaining to HR activities, regulations and procedures along with maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of employee information.

The successful candidate will:
• Support recruitment and selection processes by establishing, maintaining and processing applicant inventories, screening resumes, preparing and posting competition posters both internally and externally, and liaise with senior management through the staffing process.
• Scheduling and conducting interviews, conduct selection tests, GAT and language tests, and perform reliability checks.
• Track selection process from start to finish within specified corporate systems.
• Generate, forward and receive recruitment letters of offer and action accordingly within corporate systems.
• Calculate unionized employee salaries in accordance with compensation policies and collective agreements, advise new employees on conditions of employment.
• Communicate professionally with candidates in difficult and complex situations and resolve conflicts in order to minimize risks to the corporation that could give rise to court actions or grievances.
• Control access to employee files in accordance with privacy legislation by exercising good judgement and discretion.
• Maintain the strictest confidentiality in the performance of duties.
• Supports legislative programs (Human Rights, Employment Equity, Official Languages and Privacy) through reporting, liaising and communicating with all employee groups as required.

Job requirements (Education and Work experience):
• A diploma, certificate or significant progression through an accredited Human Resources program.
• Previous recruitment, selection and interview experience is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Effective analysis skills and ability to verify and interpret data
• Proficiency with computers that includes working knowledge of Excel, MS Word, and Microsoft Outlook) required
• Understanding of applicable Human Resources Management systems
• Knowledge of SAP HR Module would be an asset
• Capability of interpreting collective agreements or policy documents with respect to Staffing and Corporate regulations and directives
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures including filing systems
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism in a variety of situations
