	Position	:	Welding Engineer
	Work Location	:	Abu Dhabi
	Job Duration	:	Long Term (Direct Hire)

1) PRINCIPAL DUTIES Prepare welding procedure specifications and arrange for their qualification in accordance with contract requirements. Liaise with clients to obtain approval of welding procedures and welder qualifications. Maintain welders and procedures qualification records. Provide advice to welding supervisors to resolve welding problems that may occur. Initiate and contribute to introduction of new welding techniques/methods and new welding consumables to improve the standard and economy of welding performed within NPCC. Review tender documents and advise on welding related requirements and associated costs. Develop Company capabilities with respect to automatic welding. Represent the Company in any discussions with the client for the resolution of Welding/NDT matters. 2) INDEPENDENCE OF OPERATION Reports to Offshore Operations Manager. Decides on the welding procedure to be used for each Project. Uses own discretion within well defined procedures. Takes decisions on marginal results in liaison with Clients representatives, refers any unusual problem to management. 3) SUPERVISION OF OTHERS Indirect Supervision of all Welding/NDT operations related to Offshore Department. 4) WORK CONTACTS Within Company : Offshore Operations Management, Project Managers, Project Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, Welding Supervisors. Outside Company: Clients Representatives, sub-contractors for NDT and destructive testing. 5) WORKING CONDITIONS 50% inside office, 50% on job site - offshore. 7) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Discipline (preferably Mechanical, Welding or Metallurgy) plus minimum of 10 years experience in Welding and NDT
