Shell Canada Limited is looking to hire a professional with Convenience Retail business experience and/or a professional with the appropriate procurement experience. The Convenience Retail Procurement Manager (PM) role is part of the Americas Procurement Retail team which requires a top performing self directed Procurement professional. This role works closely with both the Procurement and Business Convenience Retail groups at the global and local level. The Procurement Manager is responsible for contracting and executing Convenience Retail goods and services agreements as required by the business. This is done through the use of market analysis, stakeholder needs analysis,strategy development, strategy implementation, tendering, negotiation and contract management.
This position is accountable to deliver value improvements to Retail and Downstream by developing and implementing Regional Procurement strategies primarily in Canada and can extend to projects covering the USA and South America by implementing the local components of global strategies. This position will also need to support Global Category Managers in implementing the Global Category Strategy within the region and maintaining retail support.

- Co-develop and deliver with the stakeholders innovative value generating concepts to market.
- Provide a strong commercial influence in the thinking and behavior of the users of goods and/or services in the region.
- Business interface for the category on a day-to-day basis with regional Retail stakeholders and ensure local Retail needs are met.
- Explore and exploit cross-business leverage opportunities for services with other lines of business i.e. Commercial,Lubricants,Distribution,etc.
- Report Value Improvements for the Category and to the Global Category Manager.
- Conduct bids,on-line bids,negotiations and manage subsequent supplier performance.
- Model options for award strategies to optimize value including quality,commerciality,and timing/speed to market.
- Manage supplier relationships including resolution of operational and supplier performance issues relating to the commercial and non-commercial terms of contracts.
- Develop and maintain close productive relationships with Retail Marketing,Network and Sales & Operations stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring that key Retail and Downstream initiatives are implemented within the category as they relate to procurement.
- Responsible for ensuring contracts can be operationalized effectively within the context of the standardized invoicing process.
- Responsible for ensuring that Category Strategies incorporate the requirements of the Global Master Data content strategy.

- 5+ years commercial experience.
- Sound understanding of the Convenience Retail business, retailing and or Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry.
- Previous procurement or business experience of the Convenience Retail business is an asset.
- Strong procurement experience, strategy development and execution, negotiations, contract / supplier performance management is an asset.
- Procurement Degree / PMAC or similar accreditation is an asset.
- Functional knowledge of standard procurement tools, techniques & processes such as Emptoris, SAP, Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook, etc.
- Interface with Key Stakeholders and Global Category Managers.
