We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Manager/Advisor, Corporate Accounting to perform consolidation for the Canada Post Group of Companies as well as oversee research, development, administration, documentation and implementation of corporate level financial accounting and reporting policies, standards, and procedures, including statistical data required for corporate reporting, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), statutory requirements, and in keeping with the information requirements of the Corporation. This role will also see you ensure that corporate accounting and financial controls are established and maintained for all relevant corporate systems.

The successful candidate will:
• Perform consolidation of the Canada Post Group of Company
• Assess required changes to the corporate chart of accounts, related corporate accounting coding structures, financial statement presentations, reporting programs and systems to support IFRS external reporting and internal management information needs impacted by these changes
• Monitor IFRS accounting, financial reporting and regulatory developments
• Work closely with the Treasury, Tax, Legal, Information Technology and Internal Audit groups on related aspects of the accounting policy
• Assist in the preparation of the annual audited financial statements and notes in accordance with GAAP and IFRS for submission to the Director, Financial Reporting
• Develop and publish instructions, forms and schedules which inform and educate CPC and business partners in the use of financial and accounting disciplines with respect to IFRS
• Ensure, through succession planning and training, a continuing development of competent management for the function and with potential other assignments in CPC

Job requirements (Education and Work experience):
• Degree in Finance, Administration, Commerce or Accounting
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA)
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• 3 to 5 years of public accounting practice
• Proven leader able to motivate others and promote teamwork
• Highly influential with sound judgement and superior decision making and negotiation skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Adept at problem analysis and change management

As part of the selection process selected candidates will be required to complete a security screening process
