Job Preview



The Sales Manager will be accountable for the growth of sales and margin within Alberta. The ideal candidate is committed to continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and results achievement and able to lead a team of sales representatives.


Duties and Responsibilities



1. Manage a team of sales representatives whose compensation has been based on their ability to grow sales territory and volume.

2. Grow Sales and Margins within Strategic Market Segments to a measured, budgeted objective

3. Planning of Targeted Sales Priorities and Weekly Planning of Sales Activity

4. Actively Foster Key Customer Relationships and Realize Future Growth Potential

5. New Account Prospecting and Prequalification

6. Active Identification and Selling of both "Sell Deeper" and "Margin Improvement" opportunities

7. Active Selling of Preferred, Strategic Vendor Initiatives and development of Market Share

8. Construction of Strategic Selling Plans and Sales Call Plans

9. Actively manage Customer Account Receivables

10. Ongoing Development of Selling Skills

11. Effective use of VIP Automation




Qualification Requirements



1. Ability to effectively plan weekly and daily activity directed towards targeted sales opportunities

2. Ability to understand and utilize Bunzl's VIP selling process to effectively pre-qualify leads, set appointments, identify customer GAPs, present solutions, handle objections and close & implement sales

3. Proven sales experience and product knowledge within related industries

4. Ability to effectively develop knowledge and skill levels

5. Computer literate in a Windows operating environment

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and AS400

7. Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up

8. Strong Organizational skills

9. Effective written and verbal communication skills

10. Ability to work effectively in situations that involve change and/or competing demands

11. Perform well in a fast-paced environment

12. Proficient handling of all confidential and time-sensitive material

13. Ability to stay within budget on expenditures
