Position	Welding Supervisor
Location	Mussafah (U.A.E.)
Primary Purpose Of The Job
To supervise ,guide and utilize the subordinate workforce of the Welding Department.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Leads subordinates with respect to:
Personnel responsibility Technical advise Practical execution of tasks
2. Executes and implements instructions of his direct superior.
3. Provides suitable number of welders to Fabrication in order to complete projects on time.
4. Determines and monitors manpower requirements of Welding Department in coordination with
Fabrication and Planning department.
5. Evaluates and proposes welding methods to be used in order to maximize cost effectiveness
and productivity.
6. Gives input with respect to Item 5 during early design/project stages.
7. Assists and coordinates with Welding Engineering with regards to welders qualification and
procedure qualification records.
8. Controls and monitors welding consumable used and adherance to WPS (Welding Procedure
Specifications) .
9. Monitors and minimizes/eliminate s weld repairs.
10.Coordinates/ plans welding activities in liaison with::
Planning Department Welding Engineering Quality Control Project Management Other Workshop Departments
11. Ensures in close relation with Fabrication , that quality and job specific requirements are
observed and met.
12. Monitors and optimizes the productivity of his assigned workforce with respect to the
allocated budget.
13. Verifies and authorizes manhour booking on time sheets.
14. Maintains, monitors and reinforces safety regulations with all employees.
15. Coordinates and maintains housekeeping (cleanliness) over the whole yard.
16. Reinforces and maintains quality with respect to:
Applicable codes and standards Client's specifications Dimensions and instructions according to working documents (drawings) Workmanship Company's Quality Manual + Work Instructions
17. Adheres to and reinforces company's rules and regulations
Minimum Requirements
Technical education with emphasis on welding practice. Good command of English Ability to work in extreme climatic conditions Must have at least 3 years experience in supervisory duties in a similar industry
