A Draftsperson is required in the Drafting group within the Operational Services department. This position is based in Calgary and reports to the Drafting Team Leader. This position will assist in the creation and maintenance of AltaLink's Substation and Telecom drawings.



NOTE: THIS IS A 20 MONTH TERM POSITION



Responsibilities



Translate designer sketches into properly documented drawings utilizing pre-defined standards in a timely and accurate manner.

Assist with the commissioning documentation for new facilities.

Qualifications



Drafting diploma from a recognized institute.

5+ years of related technical experience (ie. use of Microstation).

General knowledge of electrical design.

Superior organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.

Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

Working knowledge of Bentley Microstation and ProjectWise.

Intermediate ability to use MS Office 2000: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.

Other vendor software and databases is an asset.

General knowledge of Alberta power system facilities, Alberta Electrical and Communication Utility Code (ECUC), and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is desired.

Proven track record of good attendance and job performance.
