Job Summary:

The business development manager develops and maintains firm image and increases market shares by developing business activities, promoting goodwill, identifying customers’ needs and monitoring competition, in order to ensure proper costing and bidding for projects. He or she Outsources telecom material needed for the different projects by establishing contacts with manufacturers and suppliers and negotiates the prices and financial terms.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Assists with the annual performance management process, reviews performance evaluations and educates managers on the process.

2. Outsources first material for telecom subcontracting like shelter generator towers, negotiates the prices and the financial terms to meet the clients and the company’s conditions and controls the quality of the materials to conform it to the company’s quality standards.

3. Maintains awareness and knowledge of staff training and development and assesses current levels of employee knowledge, skills, and performance.

4. Observes and adopts necessary actions to register the company on the list of recognized sub-contractors in the telecom industry with concerned authorities.

5. Organizes and develops specific customer-relations programs and determines company presence at conventions, annual meetings and seminars.

6. Identifies, assembles and interprets marketing information on the corporate level.

7. Provides marketing information, answers questions and requests and acquires information about competitive bidders on the corporate level.

8. Accesses new countries.

9. Schedules expenditures, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions.

10. Communicates variations and disputes to the operations division and takes necessary actions to negotiate with the client to secure the company’s interests.

11. Defines and develops services and problem-solving information to clients’ dissatisfactions.

12. Develops solution for the Telecom industry.

13. Ensures that the customer is receiving up to the standards services and as expected.

14. Locates new leads and initiates contact with them.

15. Develops policies and procedures, designs forms and systems and ensures verification and legislation of inventories, costs and service quality or performance.

16. Collects, analyzes and summarizes information and trends to develop progress reports on assigned tasks and responsibility to CEO.

17. Ensures the success of customer trials and pre-sales evaluations, seeks new customers and maintains good relationships with old ones on the corporate level.

18. Coordinates with all concerned divisions.

19. Secures all documents needed for prequalification, follow-up and arranges for successful bid of the project in question.

20. Finalizes the final bid after the CEO’s consultation.

21. Ensures the implementation and maintenance of the company quality system.

22. Performs other duties upon request and as deemed necessary.

Job Specifications:

1 - Education and Experience:

- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or any relevant field.

- Minimum seven years experience, of which four years should have been in a contracting executive position in the telecommunication field.

2 - Languages:

- Excellent Arabic, English and French.

3 - Others:

- Knowledge of the company’s field.

- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.

- Knowledge of basic budgeting theories and principles.

- Knowledge of sales techniques, market segmentations and customer account management.

- Knowledge of the competitors.

- Knowledge of the targeted clients.

- Knowledge of the demands of the market.

- Skills in managing a portfolio of products, services and clients.

- Negotiation and closing skills.

- Selling techniques.

- Contingency planning.

4 - Work Environment:

- Work may require occasional weekend or evening work.

- Working conditions are normal for an office work environment.

- Work may require overtime to meet deadlines.

- Work may require being on-call in case of crisis.

- Work requires traveling.
