Quality Engineer Job description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

ط Do black box testing for MCS Products on different platforms.

ط Collaborating effectively with our internal client test team (survey and drilling departments) .

ط Developing, maintaining and extending functional Quality plans for associated new projects (new products or new versions of current projects).

ط Review associated project documents (SRS, Plans,…) for quality issues using written checklists, contribute on quality audits and follow up project peer reviews.

ط Developing, maintaining and extending functional test plan and scenarios for associated projects.

ط Write, review and execute plans/test cases/test scripts within the necessary timescales.

ط Documenting the automation and help developers to develop and execute unit tests.

ط Ensure products tested are fit for purpose.

ط Input to the continuous process improvement within the Quality Management and Product Test process.

ط Successfully complete other tasks as required

ط Do Technical writing to testing procedures documents and training manuals

This individual will work with the laboratory staff and developers to ensure deliverables and timelines are met

Normally receive no instruction on routine work, but will receive detailed instructions on new assignments.

JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

ط B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline 2-3 years minimum experience configuring and manually testing software applications and developing test plans and test cases.

ط 2-3 years of overall software quality assurance and/or software engineering experience, with exposure to the full product development cycle – from requirements through post-release. Able to formulate and implement effective test strategies, and identify areas for significant efficiency gain through automation.

ط 1+ year(s) of programming experience in at least one of VB, C++, or C#.

ط Good experience in at least one of Microsoft SQL, Access, or Oracle to be able to inspect data by queries.

ط Good understanding of UML is a must (use cases, class diagrams…).

ط Knowledge about CMMI.

ط Comfortable mentoring and training others, both informally (peer-level) and formally (through occasional presentations) .

ط Strong team player with a “do what it take” attitude. Routinely demonstrates flexibility and is a very capable multi-task. Willing to pitch in and contribute to manual test efforts when needed.

ط Good trouble shooting skills.

ط Test automation experience is a strong plus.

ط Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server is a strong plus.

ط Experience on Various H/W skills will be a plus.
