Senior DBA Administrator / Data base developer

Experience required:

§ Minimum of FIVE years employment experience as DB2 or SQL Serve data Base Administrator (DBA)..

§ Requirement of at least a BS in Information Systems, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years relevant experience as a software engineer, programmer or programmer analyst.

§ Demonstrable competence in coding stored procedures, performance tuning, PL/SQL, Unix Operating System, Windows NT 4.0 Server Operating System.

Statement of duties:

§ Provide a high level of technical support in areas of client server database administration, middleware integration and Web development. This is a multi-platform environment that spans across micro, mini and mainframe installations.

§ Works with developers, customers, server administrators to ensure proper installation of databases, and Web plug-ins.

§ Define and maintain database structure, standards, policies and procedures.

§ Assist in performance, monitoring and tuning of databases.

§ Define and maintain security strategies for databases.

§ Performs other duties as assigned.

§ Development of policy and procedure as they relate to database maintenance, security and archiving.

§ Support production databases server and be on a rotating on-call support 24 X 7.

§ Monitoring and optimizing the performance of production databases.

§ Plan for backup and recovery for database information.

§ Support development team for SQL coding and enhancing performance.

§ Supervise a team of junior DBA.

§ Synchronize data bases between onshore and offshore teams..
