Syncrude's Human Resources Department is looking for an experienced individual to join their team as a Human Resources Advisor. The successful incumbent will provide employee relations support in a way that produces results in alignment with our core values and business goals.
As a HR Professional you will be a significant contributor in the delivery of quality human resources services and counsel to various client groups. Your accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
* Work closely with identified client group management, providing HR expertise in organization sensing, interpretation and application of Syncrude Policies, Application Guidelines and Programs.
* Generate positive employee relations; ensure effective and timely resolution of employee concerns.
* Support leaders in the effective execution of performance management process to maximize employee effectiveness.
* Understand the organizational culture of the client base and offer continuous improvement recommendations to the area.
* Proactively reviewing and recommending changes where required to ensure that human resource administrative and transactional processes are effective and applied consistently.
* Support recruitment and selection activities, compensation and benefits administration as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of related HR experience, preferably within an industrial setting
* 4 year university degree (major in HR or related discipline). Candidates with a combination of education and experience will also be given consideration
* Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) is an asset
Desirable Skills:
* Demonstrated skill in conflict resolution/mediation, ability to mediate and help find win-win solutions to sensitive, interpersonal issues
* Ability to build rapport and gain confidence at all levels of the organization
* Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential
* Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to various size groups
* Ability to handle a variety of complex issues at the same time and work under time pressures
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Strong computer skills and familiarity with common LAN applications, (e.g. E-mail, MS Office)
