Application Engineer – Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)

Minimum Requirements:

آ· B.Sc. in Engineering or computer science.

آ· Minimum 5 - 12 years experience covering the fields of computer systems, networking, applications development and strategic planning, preferably in the oil industry.

آ· Good experience in the field of Engineering Document Management Systems, management of change, work process reengineering, as well as technologies and techniques that have direct bearing on documents management.

آ· - Expert knowledge of Intergraph SmartPlant Foundation based on the Scheme Object Model, including administration, configuration and customization.

آ· Knowledge of SmartPlant Enterprise technologies (SPI, SPPID).

آ· Demonstrated Experience in managing, configuring and customizing SPF to meet the business requirements of plant Owners/Operators.

آ· Ability to perform data analysis on SPF databases using SQL.

آ· Ability to integrate SPF to other applications via Web technologies.

آ· Ability to develop/support applications on Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g.

آ· Proficient in: Visual Basic 6.0, Visual Basic, Net, VBA, ASP, ASP.Net, .Net Web Services, SQL, HTML and DHTML.

Principal Accountabilities:

آ· Integrate Engineering drawings, technical documents and record management data into EDMS.

آ· Evaluate and recommend the latest technology on EDMS covering Hardware and software.

آ· Use SmartPlant Enterprises (SPE) technologies (SPI, SPPID) in managing Company Drawings and Technical documents.

آ· Manage SmartPlant foundation (SPF) based on schema object model including administration, configuration and customization.

آ· Manage, configure and customize SPF to meet business need.

آ· Perform data analysis on SPF database using SQL.

آ· Integrate SPF to other applications via web technology.

آ· Manage all projects related to EDMS that involve Scanning, Indexing and Storing in EDMS.

آ· Evaluate and recommend best technical solution for converting all drawings and technical documents into EDMS.

آ· Coordinate to optimize the interoperability of SPF with other applications.

آ· Plan and supervise the implementation of all Engineering Specifications in workflow.

آ· Plan and implement the most efficient and effective way to integrate technical documents with drawings in EDMS.

Ensure that the numbering systems, document control procedures, Drawings Office Practice (DO) and the EDMS model, address all the issues that guarantee the convergence of errors and consistency and quality of drawings and technical documents
